THE PLACE

/

Ours is a privileged spot set among almond and olive groves alongside other fruit trees. We are in Darmós, in the province of Tarragona, and in the Montsant Denominación de Origen.
As we are the fourth winemaking generation of the family, our vines have a correspondingly long history. So, the Samson vines are between 30 and 90 years old, the Garnacha vines are between 15 and 80 years old,

and the Syrah is 15 years old. Next to one of the wells, a century-old Tempranillo vine stands guard, a silent witness to all those who have worked this generous earth with our hands.
The vines grow on chalky, clay and granular soils, standing some 125–200 metres above the level of the nearby sea, less than twenty miles away.

This proximity to the sea, along with the low rainfall and the substantial temperature variations between day and night, combine to provide ideal conditions for our vines to produce grapes of outstanding quality. This is the real source of our wines, and of their characteristic minerality.
